Egyptian Maus

The Egyptian Mau is the only natural domesticated breed of spotted cat. They are moderately active and express themselves by chortling in a soft melodious voice. They were brought to North America in 1956 by the exiled Russian princess, Nathalie Troubetskoy and immediately became popular.

In looking for a male for my Savannah females, I decided on the Egyptian Mau. In researching the Mau, I found they had many of the qualities I wanted to bring into my Savannah program.

What I didn’t expect was to come to love the exceptional personality of the Mau (Mau is the Egyptian word for cat.). Intelligent and loyal, the Mau has a wonderful personality to match their elegant looks.
